The Question Before Us: Affordable Housing Crisis in Our Region

According to a report from this past October, Pittsburgh was #2 in terms of rising rents across the nation. The availability of affordable housing is one of the most complex and under-examined challenges facing our region.

This is why United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania (UWSP) is asking the question, “what is the real human cost, and how can we address it in our community?”

Please join UWSP for their next installment of The Question Before Us on June 28 from 8:30-10 a.m., where guest moderator Jane Downing of The Pittsburgh Foundation will lead a provocative discussion on the housing crisis in our region and some possible solutions.

Their expert panel will include:

· Tammy Thompson, Executive Director, Catapult Greater Pittsburgh

· Jason Tigano, President, Level Equity Buildings

· Kevin Bartko, Director of Operations, Housing Choice Voucher Program

The panel will examine the underlying causes of housing inflation, who it impacts and put forth ideas to mitigate this housing crisis.

Please RSVP to reserve your spot for this important discussion. United Way is proud to offer this free series thanks to the generosity of the Eden Hall Foundation.
