Volunteer ‘Snow Angels’ Needed This Winter

The city of Pittsburgh is searching for “snow angels.” The program pairs volunteers with seniors and residents with disabilities who need help shoveling and salting their sidewalks. In the past, the number of people in need has surpassed the number of volunteers. This year, the city is working to close the gap in several neighborhoods: Beechview, Brighton Heights, Brookline, East Hills, Elliott, Greenfield, Homewood and the Hill District. The program’s goal is to develop partnerships with community-based organizations, youth sports leagues, employers and more. For more information on the program, click here
