Food Bank Distribution Happening Now!

The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank can unfortunately no longer distribute food at its regularly scheduled large-scale Produce to People, FoodShare and Oakland Free Food Spot locations. However, it will be hosting an Emergency Food Distribution on Monday, March 30 from noon to 3 p.m. at 1 North Linden Street, Duquesne, PA 15110. The event is part of the Food Bank’s new drive-up distribution model. ONLY CARS WILL BE SERVED. Pedestrians are encouraged to call the Food Bank at 412-460-3663 to learn how to receive food. The distribution will only be able to serve 1,500 vehicles.

The Food Bank will have attendees fill out a registration form prior to receiving food. Each vehicle will receive the same set amount of food, two boxes per car no matter the number of occupants. Police will be directing traffic on PA-837. All cars attending the distribution will enter at the overpass on 837 at S. Linden Street. No cars will be permitted to enter the distribution at the Grant Street intersection (railroad tracks). Check the Food Bank website for information on upcoming distributions.

We understand that families may be experiencing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we appreciate the efforts of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to help families during this time. If you have an emergency or have any questions, call the Food Bank for support at 412-460-3663.
