Health

H.R. 5136—Rep. Bob Good (R-VA)/Judiciary (8/31/21)—A bill to prohibit chemical abortions performed without the presence of a health care provider, and for other purposes.

H. Res. 603—Rep. Alma Adams (D-NC)/Energy and Commerce (8/24/21)—A resolution expressing support for the designation of the week of August 25 through August 31 as “Black Breastfeeding Week,” to bring national attention to the United States maternal child health crisis in the Black community and the important role that breastfeeding plays in improving maternal and infant health outcomes. 

H.R. 5163—Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE)/Energy and Commerce; Ways and Means; Education and Labor; Agriculture; Judiciary; Financial Services (9/3/21)—A bill to facilitate support and services to women who find themselves with an unexpected pregnancy, to meet the emotional, physical, social, financial, and other needs women encounter during pregnancy, child birth, and child-rearing, and for other purposes.

ASCI Connection: These bills will aid ASCI in providing families knowledge of the health resources available to them. 

Floor Action:

The House had District and Committee work periods during this week and did not have any scheduled votes. 
The Senate is in recess until September 13.
