What’s Up Cuz Podcast Episode: When Black History and Education Converge

On the latest episode of What’s Up Cuz, Dr. Sharon L. McDaniel, Dr. David Brock, and special guest Yven Destin share critical thinking around the unspoken conversation of missing black history in the education of children.

Yven Destin, Ph.D., is an educator, and writer living in Charlotte, North Carolina. He teaches history at a private school and is a student of American writer James Baldwin. Currently, he is working on a book devoted to the philosophy of the famed author. He is a published researcher and serves on the editorial board of the Family Integrity & Justice Quarterly and is a Guest Editor of the Journal of Family Strengths. Dr. Destin is a graduate of Morehouse College, a historically black college in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned an MA from the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
