Take Advantage of Allegheny County’s Stipend for Summer Camp

How will our children stay safe and engaged during the summer months? It may only be January, but it’s never too early to plan how your children will spend their summer time off. The Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth and Families provides an allowance for youth in care to attend summer camp on a first come, first served basis.

The earlier you apply for camp, the better your chances that your child will receive funding. Each application is considered individually, with particular attention paid to special-needs camps for children who require extended services. Most special-needs camps, such as Glade Run, are open for registration now and fill up fast! ASCI’s Camp COPES and ASCI Reads are also authorized as camp providers.

Note that the Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth and Families does not provide transportation for children to be picked up and/or dropped off for camp. Arrangements for transportation services must be handled by the caregiver.
