ASCI Staff Enjoy Painting and Pies

ASCI’s Social Fund is a fun way to boost employee morale with special activities and treats throughout the year. In November, staff got away from the daily grind with “Painting and Pies,” an event like Painting with a Twist but with delicious desserts!

Employees chose from four different paintings: A truck, an owl, a scarecrow and a “thankful” wreath. Each painting showcased different levels of difficulty to test staff’s creativity.

“It was very beautiful. I really enjoyed myself. Everyone did an awesome job with their paintings! They were willing to step outside of their comfort zone to accomplish their paintings. As the instructor, it made me proud!” —Jacquelyn Mitchell, ASCI Administrative Supervisor

Toogie’s Sweets, Oakmont Bakery and Kakes by the Pound catered the event with desserts that consisted of pineapple upside-down cake, chocolate covered strawberries, sweet potato pies and much more!

“The ambiance was great! The decor and presentation were impeccable. The desserts were delicious! This event was executed amazingly!” —Karastan Jackson, ASCI Systems Improvement Support Clerk

“Painting and Pies was so much fun! To see everyone’s creativity, especially those who don’t usually draw or paint, was fun to witness. I got to see a small side of my coworkers that I don’t see.” —Vania McClendon, Administrative Assistant for ASCI Communications, Content and Systems Engagement

As a gift, each participant received a small easel, canvas and paint palette.

Painting with Pies was one of the staff’s favorite Social Fund events. It was a peaceful getaway from their day-to-day responsibilities, and ASCI is looking forward to the next Social Fund event!
