Informing Grandfamilies Act Introduced

Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Todd Young (R-IN) introduced the Informing Grandfamilies Act, a bill that would require states to directly communicate with relative caregivers who receive or are applying for cash assistance through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, to inform them about potential options to receive financial support on behalf of children through the child welfare system. It would also ensure states refer families to Kinship Navigator programs. Read the full text of the bill.
