Black Female Leadership Development Institute Now Recruiting

Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh is actively recruiting for the 2022 cohort of their Black Female Leadership Development Institute.

The Black Female Leadership Development Institute (BFLDI) is a professional and academic enrichment program that serves African American high school girls in the Greater Pittsburgh region. The program is free to participants due to the generous support of donors.

BFLDI provides young women with the opportunity to develop skills such as networking, communication, advocacy and leadership so that they may influence local, national and global communities. The program consists of weekly academic workshops and monthly Saturday seminars (led by regional leaders), both currently facilitated by Zoom.

The weekly workshops will strengthen the young women’s public speaking skills, test-taking strategies, and global awareness, while the Saturday seminars will expose them to a diverse spectrum of powerful women all working to better society and break glass ceilings. The Institute concludes with a graduation ceremony.
