Lisa R. Chambers has long been committed to serving children and families. Prior to joining A Second Chance, Inc., she worked for the Allegheny County Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF) for more than 20 years. As Court Liaison Manager, Chambers oversaw all areas of cooperation between CYF and Juvenile Court, including scheduling, drug screening, genetic testing and father engagement.

Before entering the field of social work, Chambers worked as a teacher in a child care facility and earned her bachelor’s degree in child development from the University of Pittsburgh.

In her current role, Chambers strives to educate and empower child welfare jurisdictions on the importance of utilizing kinship care services to keep children safely within their own family units, as it bares positive outcomes for children and families involved in the system.
