Affirming LGBTQ+ Youth: ASCI Training for Caregivers
Can you imagine growing up without anyone who affirms your identity?
When youth in care enter a new home, it is important that caregivers protect and prepare them for societal and personal biases they may experience.
The AFFIRM training is an interactive, discussion-based experience that will help stretch your understanding of the issues LGBTQ+ youth in foster care experience. You will learn what you can do to be a more supportive and affirming caregiver to an LGBTQ+ youth.
Our virtual series takes place in the comfort of your own home, through your computer or tablet. Please let us know if you need any technology assistance in order to participate.
Participants will be asked to complete pre, post and follow-up training surveys. A $25 VISA gift card will be provided for each survey completed (up to $75). An additional $25 VISA gift card will be provided to each participant who completes all three surveys.
