of Contact
The Point of Contact program has been established to provide direct services to families serving as kinship foster homes. This program helps these families meet the requirements of foster care set by the Department of Public Welfare, Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families,(ACCYF) and A Second Chance, Inc.
A Second Chance, Inc. program services include:
- Orientation and training of kinship foster families
- Approval and certification of kinship foster family homes
- Monitoring and assessments of family
- Re-certification of kinship caregivers homes
- After care assistance
Point of Contact also provides respite service where foster children can be cared for up to 72 hours and in situations up to 30 days to help families stay together. This includes a 24-hour confidential hot line: 412-342-0600. |
