Dear Grandparents,

Welcome to A Second Chance, Inc., a private Non-profit organization committed to providing direct and supportive services to Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families (CYF). You have been invited to join the first K. A. P. Training, starting October 15, 2011 from 9:00 am-4:00 PM at A Second Chance, Inc.

K. A. P. stands for Kin As Parents. The K. A.P Training will provide you with techniques and strategies to help you with the grandchildren in your care.

The K. A. P. training is a 6-hour session in which we will discuss topics such as Personal Power and Control, Why parents hit their Children, Alcoholism as a Family Disease, Budgeting, Safety in the Home, and HIV Awareness and Prevention. If you are A Second Chance, Inc. Kinship Caregiver, you will receive credit for your yearly Recertification hours. If not, you can still participate and walk away feeling informed and empowered.

We will provide child care (you must RSVP if needed), Continental Breakfast and Lunch.
