TEMPORARY CASEWORKER I

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in a Social Work or a related field required plus at least one year of experience working directly with children in a child related field; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must have excellent interpersonal skills; and must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African American heritage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a full range of casework services to foster parents and children (which include on-call rotation, crisis intervention services, assessment, placement, monitoring and transporting);
  • work on-call hours as directed;
  • interface with all service providers for the purpose of service delivery and goal planning meetings;
  • prepare monthly progress reports, service plans and other reports are required by DHS, DPW, and the agency;
  • Adhere to all other program and agency policies and procedures governing the objective of the agency and program. 
  • Attend foster and biological parent training sessions.  Serve as discussion facilitator in the training programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

* Registered and insured vehicle

* Certificate of Insurance for vehicle

* Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License

* City/County travel

* Current Act 33 and Police Clearances

* Available to work flexible schedule

* Carry pager/cell phone

Reports directly to Program Supervisor.
