TECD TRAINER

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

One year of relevant training experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of child welfare system, foster and adoptive families a plus; Good verbal and written communication skills;  Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly responsible for facilitating and assisting with foster parent certification and re-certification training sessions as well staff training.  Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to,:

  • Conduct training sessions covering specified topics that make-up the foster parent certification training and re-certification training;
  • Conduct training sessions covering specified topics for internal staff;
  • Confer with attendees to obtain feedback to gain knowledge of situations requiring further training and assess whether a change in policy and procedure is appropriate to recommend;
  • Develop and implement new trainings;
  • Ensure that there are sufficient copies of instructional materials and make additional copies as appropriate;
  • Utilize, and update as appropriate, training curriculum and instructional materials and methods;
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training and recommend improvements as appropriate;
  • Provide feedback on attendees’ progress toward completion of the training series;
  • Assist attendees with problems experienced during the certification/re-certification process;
  • Make suggestions on improving work procedures in the Training, Education and Community Development Department;
  • Maintain attendance records;
  • Provide case management services as needed (GFC, KER, FGDM Coordination);
  • Writes profiles as needed;
  •  Assists with supporting the facilitation of the agency support groups;
  • Responsible for pre and post testing of all trainings conducted;
  • Responsible for monthly outcomes and WIGS for respective trainings conducted;
  • Must successfully complete the American Red Cross Instructor’s training for CPR/First Aid and AED
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BASED ON ORGANIZATIONAL NEED

 

REQUIREMENTS
  • Registered and insured vehicle
  • Certificate of Insurance of vehicle
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
  • Current Act 33 and 34 Clearances
  • Available to work flexible schedule
  • Work on-call hours
