Family Group Decision Making
(FGDM) Coordinator

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree required in a human service field or related area.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Three years of direct experience in working with children and families in the Child Welfare System.

 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate and/or negotiate with the family members, community resource supports, and other professionals and meeting logistics; Must demonstrate leadership skills and qualities; Must possess the knowledge of foster care services and client/family needs; Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of social work, child welfare system and group dynamics; Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to draft clear and concise minutes as record keeping and background for reports and recommendations; Bi-lingual a plus.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works as a Coordinator in the Family Group Decision Making Practice (FGDM).
  • Conducts preparation interviews and meetings with all participants involved in the FGDM, utilizing solution focused questioning and other interview techniques.
  • Supports family members, FGDM participants and the FGDM facilitator before, during and after the FGDM.
  • Coordination of all aspects of FGDM meeting (e.g. location, meal, travel and participants).
  • Provides in-home services to families referred before and after FGDM meeting.
  • Takes formal minutes during the FGDM meeting, and provides timely written summary to the FGDM Facilitator at the conclusion of the meeting for inclusion in the FGDM Facilitator's report.
  • Maintains a FGDM database, to include outcomes and follow up information of each FGDM.
  • Work on-call hours as directed
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Registered and insured vehicle
  • Certificate of Insurance for vehicle
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  • Current Act 33, State Police and FBI Clearances
  • Available to work flexible schedule
  • Carry agency cell phone
