CASEWORKER I

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in a Social Work or a related field required.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

One year of experience working directly with children in a child related field;

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

None

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must have excellent interpersonal skills; and must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African American heritage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a full range of emergency/temporary foster care service to foster parents and children (which includes training, crisis intervention services, placement and monitoring, and transporting);
  • Work on-call hours as directed; interface with all providers for the purpose of planning meetings;
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and other reports are required by DHS, DPW, and the agency; and adhere to all other program and agency policies and procedures governing the objective of the agency and program.
  • Other duties as assigned based on organizational needs

REQUIREMENTS

* Registered and insured vehicle

* Certificate of Insurance for vehicle

* Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License

* City/County travel

* Current Act 33 and Police Clearances

* Available to work flexible schedule

* Carry pager

Reports directly to Program Supervisor.
