CASEWORKER

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in a Social Work or a related field preferred plus at least one year of experience working directly with children in a child related field; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must have excellent interpersonal skills; and must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African American heritage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide a full range of emergency/temporary foster care service to foster parents and children (which includes training, crisis intervention services, placement and monitoring, and transporting); work on-call hours as directed; interface with all providers for the purpose of planning meetings; prepare monthly progress reports and other reports are required by Allegheny County Children and Youth Services, DPW and the agency; and adhere to all other program and agency policies and procedures governing the objective of the agency and program. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Registered and insured vehicle
• Certificate of Insurance for vehicle
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
• City/County travel
• Current Act 33 and Police Clearances
• Available to work flexible schedule
• Carry pager Reports to Program Supervisor.
